Hadronic Final States and Spectroscopy in Ep Collisions at Hera
نویسنده
چکیده
Recent results on spectroscopy and the measurement of hadronic final states in ep collisions from the H1 and ZEUS collaborations are presented using data sets with an integrated luminosity between 44 and 121 pb collected during the HERA I running period. Besides a search for resonant states which could be interpreted as pentaquarks, a study of charged particle momentum spectra in the Breit frame and a measurement of neutral strange hadron production is shown. Furthermore two recent measurements of prompt photons are presented and compared with pQCD calculations. The measurements are performed in photoproduction (γp) with a four-momentum transfer squared Q ∼ 0GeV or in deep inelastic scattering (DIS) at Q > 1GeV.

Abstract. An extract of recent results from the H1 and ZEUS Collaborations is shown. Various properties of quantum chromo dynamics are investigated by studying the details of the hadronic final state of high energy electron proton collisions at HERA. The presented results include analyses of jet cross sections and single particle production such as γ and D. Part of the measurements deal with fi...

We extend a quantum kinetic approach to the description of hadronic showers in space, time, and momentum space to deep-inelastic ep collisions, with particular reference to experiments at DESY HERA. We follow the history of hard scattering events back to the initial hadronic state and forward to the formation of colorsinglet prehadronic clusters and their decays into hadrons. The time evolution...
متن کاملHadronic final states and QCD studies at HERA ∗
HERA is the only electron(positron)-proton collider in the world. It has been running since 1992, with a major upgrade of the accelerator during 2001-2002. The multipurpose H1 and ZEUS detectors have been collecting data steadily during these years. Pre-upgrade integrated luminosities of ∼ 100 pb−1 per experiment have already allowed the most accurate determination of the proton structure up to...
متن کاملJET SHAPES AND DETERMINATIONS OF s FROM HADRONIC FINAL STATES IN DEEP INELASTIC SCATTERING AT HERA
Recent results from the study of hadronic nal states in deep inelastic scattering at HERA are reviewed. Jet shapes from neutral and charged current interactions at HERA are compared to those from e + e ? annihilation and p p collisions. The (2+1) jet event rate distributions R2+1(Q 2) and y2 are measured using the modiied JADE jet algorithm. The value of the strong coupling constant s is determ...
